SUNDAY BUFFET at BLUE RIDGE ~ July 15th 11am-2pm

Dear Friend of Blue Ridge –

Would you like to contribute to our Blue Ridge buffet? It’s so easy. Here is how you can help!

Our annual Sunday Buffet is coming up fast! We hope you’ll plan to stop by the station on Sunday, July 15 from 11 am – 2 pm to enjoy grilled chicken and Italian sausage, fresh corn from Nalls Farm Market, and a wide variety of sides, salads and desserts made by our members and neighbor friends. No matter how hot it is outside, our social hall will be cool. Whether you’re a long-time  resident or new to the area, you’re sure to see old friends or make some new ones! And if you’re curious about becoming a Blue Ridge volunteer, events like this can be a nice way for us to connect.

Training Really Is Everything

Training really is everything. Blue Ridge Chief Jason Burns coordinated an intense 2-1/2 week course designed to saturate aspiring firefighters with the realities of fire behavior, attack, rescue, water supply, scene safety… and more.

Thanks to Val Van Meter and Scott Mason with the Winchester Star for coming out last week to cover some of the hands-on learning.
