Support Division

The Support Division of Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company 8 is comprised of neighborhood volunteers. Our mission is to host/sponsor fund raising events to support the vital work of our Company; providing emergency fire and rescue assistance to those in need.

Examples of some of our activities include:

  • Catered dinners for groups of 50+ persons including birthday parties, anniversaries, wedding receptions, reunions, and community organizations.
  • Spring & Fall Sunday Buffet dinners (open to the public)
  • Holiday Craft Bazaar (first Saturday in November)
  • Breakfast with Santa (second Saturday of December)
  • Handmade Quilt raffles
  • Indoor Flea Markets

All of our funds are utilized to help offset the operational costs of the Company so that when our Neighbors place a 911 call for fire or rescue assistance; the proper emergency equipment is available. Our members also provide food, drink and physical support to our Fire Fighters and Rescue Personnel during long term emergency response events such as forest fires, river rescues, and searches for missing persons.

Our “Neighbors helping Neighbors” motto reflects our dedication to help protect the lives and property of those who call Clarke County HOME.

We are always in need of help with projects such as baking desserts, cleaning the Fire Hall, assisting with meal preparation, shopping, organizing or making phone calls. Members of all skills and backgrounds are welcome! For further information or to offer your time and talents; please contact President Cindy Kelley at phone 540-955-4000 or 540-955-1534. Email:
